. This is the first Hall of Fame title for Zolotow, who won his championship title last May during the World Series of Poker. A 50-year-old semi-professional gambler and a co-owner of Poker World magazine, Zolotow has cashed in several other poker competitions and also has won numerous bridge and backgammon tournaments. He has been playing both poker and bridge since childhood.
. Zolotow came to the final table as the chip underdog, but by the time heads-up play began, he held a slight advantage over runner-up Tyler Wong. Zolotow continued to build his stack, and two hours later, Wong lost his last two chips when Zolotow showed down tens up in back, nines up for the middle hand, and a pair of aces in front. Wong's final hand was a spade flush in back, treys up in the middle, and K-J-6 in front.
. Wong, a 23-year-old professional gamesman from Nacogdoches, Texas, received $36,250 for his second-place finish. A former student of fiction writing and music, Wong also cashed in both Chinese Poker events at the Queens Summer Classic.
. Placing third in the Chinese Poker competition and taking home $21,750 was Matthias Rohnacher, the 34-year-old owner of a poker club in Heidelberg, Germany. Formerly in the music business, Rohnacher holds a title from the Queens Poker Classic and was the runner-up of the 1994 European Poker Championship Tournament.
